We did it!!!

Action shot of the Cycle, Splash & Dash event

After months of preparation and nail biting, the Cycle Splash Dash event went with a bang! Over 100 people registered to take part in the event on 20th August, which aimed to raise £6,000 by getting people to cycle, swim or run to add to the target of 1,500 miles. Well as the title suggests, not only did we reach our goal, but we have beaten it!!

Thanks to all those lovely participants sweating their way around the gym, and spending money on the day on our auction, BBQ and raising awareness and donations, and of course our amazing Corporate Sponsors, we have raised £7,973!!!! We are over the moon and so grateful, we have smashed our target, and it will go a long way in providing Sporting Wishes for children suffering from life threatening illnesses.

The biggest thanks needs to be given to local boy and Charity Champion, Gareth Simpson of Premier Education group, who was the Mastermind behind the event and organised the whole thing from start to finish - including convincing the lovely Grant, General Manager at David Lloyd, to open up the premises for the charity to use.

We also have to give a shout out to our Charity Ambassadors who not only took part on the day, but donated items to our auction, took photos with the children and signed autographs - Nigel Winterburn, Katy Alexander Olly Jarvis to name a few, also our Charity Champions and Trustees, who helped with running the day, took part and helped with donations - Jane, Steve Cooper and family, Harriet - the Charity is blessed to have such amazing support.

We can't wait to take our first child on the trip of a lifetime, and we'll update you all as soon as we have the big day planned!! In the meantime, why not check out our next event at Serpentine Green and see how you can help?
